You do not need trade experience for this free program. More important is the interest and willingness to show up and work hard.
We start with an orientation meeting to explain and answer questions. In this meeting, we ask those who want to take the program to fill out a written application in person and be scheduled for an interview. Do come to an orientation even if you are not sure about it, because the orientation is to help you learn and then decide.
Once accepted, you will begin the 120 hour course which includes classwork, several guest speakers, some homework, and one or two field trips. Those completing the program will get certificates valued by the many apprenticeships we have connections with.
During and after the class we will help you explore and apply for apprenticeship programs you think fit well for you. While we cannot guarantee placement in apprenticeship, we will work with you to help you become an apprentice, as many have before you
You can just come to an orientation without signing up, but registering for it helps us connect with you and plan arrangements. When you click on the register button, you will be asked to select one of three options.
The first two options are orientations for our next class. Allow 2-3 hours for the required orientation you choose, and write down the date, time and location. (Note: After orientations and interviews, the class itself will start September 23 with a daytime week, followed by Tuesday and Thursday evenings through December 12, 2019, at the Sonoma County Joblink facility.)
Orientation A will start at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, August 28, in the "Santa Rosa Room" at Sonoma County Joblink, 2227 Capricorn Way, #100, Santa Rosa, CA 95407.
Orientation B will start at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, September 4, at the same location, (2227 Capricorn Way, Santa Rosa).
The third option is to sign up for a future class, which we will advise you of by e-mail when more details are available.
If you have trouble registering, you can e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, but know it may take several days for a response.
